The beautiful Banken Hotel is housed in a grand historic building from 1919 that once served as Haugesund Sparebank.
Banking operations in the building ended in 1985. Since then, it has housed a nightclub, disco, pizzeria, event venue, offices, and apartments. Most of our generation probably remembers Banken Nightclub best!
Banken Hotel - in local hands
After years of planning and renovation, Banken welcomed its first hotel guests in 2011. Today, both the building and the hotel are locally owned and operated.
Take your time to enjoy a historical tour around the building and take note of the original grand staircase, historical photos, the bank vault in the lower level, the original interior door with beveled glass, and the chandeliers from the former Boardroom, now gracing the curved ceiling of the lobby.
Bar and roof terrace
The bar is open as long as staff are present. Monday to Saturday until kl. 20:00. Welcome!
During the summer months, we open our fantastic rooftop terrace.
